The official language of the Meeting is English. Live translation to Spanish and Portuguese will be available in the main plenary hall as well as during other select sessions. Please refer to the scientific program for details.

During the entire Meeting, the attire will be casual and informal.

Visa regulations depend on your nationality and country of origin. We suggest you contact your local Brazilian Consulate for official instructions on the specific visa regulations and application procedures that may apply to you. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa if required. A valid passport is required for entry into Brazil.

The Meeting Secretariat and Organizers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of or damage to private property of participants, either during or indirectly arising from the IGCS 2019. Congress Participants are advised to take out their own personal health and travel insurance for their trip.

Invitation letters for visa purposes are available only to registered participants. The option to issue an invitation letter is available within the registration process. At the end of the registration process, you will be able to generate an invitation letter, and you will also receive a confirmation email with a link to the invitation letter.

The official currency is the Brazilian Rial.

ATMs can be found throughout the city. Banco do Brasil, Bradesco, Citibank and HSBC are the best banks to try when using a debit or credit card. Even though many ATMs advertise 24-hour service, these ’24 hours’ usually fall between 6am and 10pm. On Sundays and holidays, ATM access ends at 3pm. Money changing is speedier at casas de câmbio (exchange offices) than at banks. At the airport, international ATMs and money exchange are located on the 3rd floor of arrivals.

All event activities (including educational sessions, meal functions, exhibition hall, etc.) are exclusively reserved for registered attendees. Non-registered guests (including children, family members, colleagues, etc.) are not allowed in any of the event areas. Badges provided at registration are required for entrance into all functions and will be strictly enforced.

As Organizers of the IGCS 2019 which will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on September 19 – 21 2019,  we entrusted TWT srl, Rome, to collect the applications from the Pharmaceutical Companies for the Italian Ministry of Health agency AIFA procedure, in compliance with the instructions given by the Legislative Order 219 of the 24th April 2006 – art. 124.
